Old Forest School Annual Summer Picnic & Open Day
Formerly Pongakawa Valley School & Rotoehu Forest School 1933–1986. Sunday 6th March 2011 from 10am onwards - Bring a picnic lunch & a rug for your family...
We warmly welcome former pupils, staff & their families as well as residents of the Rotoehu community, past & present to Old Forest School for a casual picnic on the school grounds.
Last years hugely successful picnic, the first reunion since closing in 1986 attracted over 200 people from all over NZ & Australia.
The school had become very run down since closing & has been undergoing extensive renovations by our family since we purchased it three years ago. We still have a wee way to go but the school has definitely regained its former glory. We have been delighted to have had so many visitors over the last couple of years who have encouraged us on what at times seemed daunting.
